Job DescriptionApplications are invited for a postdoctoral Research Associate position in the Department of Physics within the Faculty of Natural and Mathematical Sciences at King’s College London.

With the aim of opening new avenues of research in ultrafast nanophotonic routing, polarization dependent spin-orbit interactions of light, and in the manipulation, levitation and sorting of nanoparticles or molecules near engineered metamaterial surfaces, Dr. Rodríguez-Fortuño is looking for a talented postdoctoral Research Associate to join his team, to perform internationally-leading research on novel nanophotonic phenomena, mostly at a theoretical/computational level. Among other research activities, the post holder will code open-source software to solve near-field scattering of nanostructures near surfaces. The post holder is expected to keep an experimentally-oriented approach to theory, and to assist the team at the experimental level for proof-of-concept demonstrations of the effects.

Candidates should have, or be about to obtain a PhD in Physics, Engineering or a related discipline.

This is a fixed term post for three years.

The selection process will include competency based questions and a panel interview.

Interviews are scheduled to be held the week commencing: 13th February
